See it: Capitals Prospect Ryan Leonard Tallies First NCAA Goal

Ryan Leonard is expected to make a substantial impact in a Washington Capitals uniform one day.

But, for now, the Capitals’ first round pick this summer is suiting up in the NCAA, and his presence was surely felt Thursday for Boston College.

Leonard, a a freshman winger, tallied his first collegiate goal against Michigan State, as well as an assist.

Leonard’s goal, coming in the first period, was assisted by fellow first-round picks Gabriel Perreault and Will Smith — all linemates with the United States National Team Development program.

Boston College emerged with a 6-4 victory.
